Marquis : Our Creation of Eros by Versace is a vibrant Aromatic Fougère fragrance for men, launched in 2012 and crafted by perfumer Aurélien Guichard. It bursts open with an energizing blend of crisp green apple, zesty lemon, and refreshing mint—an invigorating introduction that commands attention. The heart brings warmth and sensuality with smooth tonka bean, amber-like ambroxan, and a floral touch of geranium. As it settles, the base unveils a rich fusion of creamy Madagascar vanilla, dry cedarwood from Virginia and the Atlas mountains, grounded by earthy vetiver and oakmoss, creating a fragrance that is both powerful and seductive.
Bought a sample for a friend- huge hit. The friend was gay but was attracting straight women by the dozen just cause he smelled so good
A lot of people dislike this fragrance, and after looking deeper into different fragrances I can see why. Don’t get me wrong now, this is an AMAZING fragrance, but I feel it’s a bit basic and does too much for its scent profile. I get heavy green notes from the apple and mint for a solid hour until it transitions into this aromatic, SLIGHTLY fruity scent. I get strong projection for 2 to 3 hours, and around a foot or two of projection for the last 5 hours. Honestly a compliment getter, it’s basic, but loud enough for people to notice that you’re wearing something without getting too close to you. I don’t think this fragrance deserves all the hate that it receives, but it can get a bit much at times.
Great all-rounder masculine classic. You have to be careful not to overspray this though if wearing it during the day as it can be quite overpowering especially in somewhere like an office environment. I do understand why some people might not like this one as it does have a bit of a young guy going out on the town/teenage boy's first fragrance type of vibe. Despite agreeing with that sentiment I still like the scent overall.
First impression: What a fun fragrance! Of the more popular men's fragrances I've gotten to try and sample, this one stands out to my nose. The open was a bit sharp, but it went away quickly. Think I was too quick to sniff, gotta give it a second to develop like a polaroid. Afterwords, we get a slightly fruity, sweet fragrance that lingers into the mid. The faint bit of vanilla in the base, along with the cedar and vetiver, create an earthy, yet gentle base upon which the citrus and floral notes sit. Versace, and perfumer Aurélien Guichard, succeeded in creating an appealing men's scent. It is youthful, sweet, and worthy of the praise it has received.
What got me into fragrances. Got it as a christmas gift from my mom and the first thing I thought after smelling it was "If there is stuff that smells this good what else is out there?". Can't undermine that. It will always have sentimental value to me.
