Creation of Initio Oud for Greatness Travel Spray

Masterfully blended clean and classy oud wood. This is certainly one of my favorite oud scents.

This is my second niche fragrance and it’s amazing, you need to be careful when and where you are going to use it because you can get a bit “overwhelmed” cause of the STRONG sillage, definitely a must have if you are going to start a niche collectionpd: as a 15 year old, in my pov, it’s a really great fragrance

The opening is warm and spicy with a strong saffron note. From the first spray it feels rich and bold.Honestly, I don’t see it as an oud fragrance. The name is a bit misleading. I don’t get that strong animalic oud, especially as someone used to real oud. It’s more saffron with a sweet warm base. More like “Saffron for Greatness” than oud.Performance is very strong. Longevity goes up to around 14 hours, and sillage is strong for the first 3 hours.The main issue for me is not the scent itself, it’s just that I found something better. I prefer Haltane Parfums de Marly. It feels smoother and easier to wear. This one is still nice, but a bit heavier and sharper.I’d recommend it if you like saffron heavy warm scents with strong performance. Oud for Greatness is one of the most accessible Ouds and probably loved female fragrances, there is nothing complicated about it, actually is downgrading the concept of oud a bit, the way was balanced in this cozy and sweet accord works all the time in a cold setting. The oud isn't in the center but is an essential element that makes the scent something likable. The main block is based of Saffron, Nutmeg and Lavander, The nutmeg is sweet and nectary, while the other two hold the composition together. There is some level of Gourmont in here, it reminds you of a nutmeg caramel cupcake somehow, allowing to become very pleasant to anyone, even being quite sweet the oud is placed in a gentle way allow everything else to shine around it and round up the special effect of this scent. Even thought i dont regard highly this scent, because i think is a bit too "easy" and the oud isn't the king, but just a hint, is an extremely functional scent, and most likely the door into Oud for anyone. This is extremely beloved by women (on man) as creates a avery sexy aurea thanks to the cupcake nature of it, is like a warm soft hug. I think is a bit overhyped and surely over priced, but is clear is one of the signature scents in the Initio lineup. People say is masculine, but imo is way more suited for a women, even thought as i said, is very sexy on a man, i get people asking always what it is, and i find it interesting because they absolutely don't feel the oud, it's a masked oud, hence probably the given name. "greatness" because is just the easiest part of the oud digestable by the west. Very smart profumery, but nothing that justify the retail cost, i can see Oud lovers going mad about it, and i would totally understand. I personally use it to layer, as this is quite sweet, and sometime is good to counter balance a strong Sandalwood or Oud fragrance based on the mood.
