Stright up smooth wood with a unique hint. At first I thought I caught a whiff of coconut but then i got closer and got hit by none other than a vetiver and a hint of unknown note that adds a "green" aspect to the fragrance. It's sillage and longitivity are very good tho.

Reminds me of Santal & Vanilla from Sand+Fog and Santal and Vetiver from Salt & Stone. Very classic deep but clean woody, vanilla but wayyy too over priced.

Santal 33 was one I approached with very high expectations, mainly because Le Labo is the brand that opened the door for me into niche perfumery and this is known to be their signature bestseller. The opening caught me completely off guard, very sharp, slightly sour, with a strong pickle and dill vibe that felt almost confusing at first. As it settles, it becomes much smoother, softer, and actually very elegant in a quiet, understated way. There’s something about it that feels very old money, clean, woody, and effortlessly put together. I do enjoy it on myself, but I feel like it truly comes alive on a man, where that classic masculine elegance and natural coolness just sit perfectly and turn it into something really special on a man who wears it with ease and make it his own.
